Common hallmarks and markings

Many items will have small stamps that indicate metal type or purity, such as:

• Gold: 375, 585, 750, 916, 999
• Silver: 800, 925, 958, 999
• Platinum: 850, 900, 950, 999

These markings can help indicate metal content, but they are not always reliable on their own.
